Work with me

Offering psychotherapy in Dupont Circle and online

I specialize in helping with:

Trauma Recovery

We often think of trauma as an acute, life-threatening event. But trauma comes in many forms, including smaller moments - feeling dismissed, out of control, or unsafe. In therapy with me, we will approach your experiences with compassion and sensitivity. I utilize EMDR, the current gold standard for trauma treatment, to help my clients achieve long-lasting relief from trauma symptoms.

Sexual trauma, or shame/anxiety related to sex

The topic of sex is often intertwined with feelings of shame or anxiety. This can lead to struggles with desire and libido, pain during sex, or unhealthy sexual patterns that can feel out of control. Sexual issues can be the most delicate to talk about in therapy (and life in general!), so we will be sure to approach these issues with care and without judgement.

Life Transitions

Change can bring up a range of emotions, from excitement to grief. Whether you are leaving something behind, or starting a new chapter, therapy with me offers a grounded place to process and reflect during these moments.

People pleasing behaviors

Do you find that you put the needs of others ahead of your own? Do you need help setting appropriate boundaries with family and friends? We can explore where these habits came from and gently challenge these patterns to achieve greater self-compassion.

Athletes and performance-related problems

I believe that mental health and performance in sport are closely connected. I particularly enjoy working with athletes in recovering from mental blocks and performance anxiety. I also provide injury support, and stress management for athletes of all levels. I believe that good therapy for athletes needs to be holistic, meaning we will likely explore issues both in and outside of sport.

About me

I’m a licensed clinical social worker with an MSW from Fordham University. My training as a social worker has given me a unique ability to see the bigger picture of a person’s life. I believe in a holistic, personalized approach to therapy that considers not only individual experiences, but also the broader systems that influence mental health and well-being.

I am trained in EMDR, an evidence based approach that utilizes bilateral stimulation on the body to reprocess trauma and support healing. I believe the combination of talk therapies and psychosomatic therapies best supports mind-body healing.

I have worked in a wide variety of settings as a social worker and therapist, where I have supported people across the lifespan with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, PTSD, and C-PTSD.

I was a Division IA collegiate athlete, so I combine this experience with my professional tools to address matters such as performance anxiety, mental blocks, body image issues, and anxiety and depression in athletes.

I am a lifelong learner. Currently, I am enrolled in an advanced training program at the Institute of Contemporary Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis. I study psychodynamic therapy, which helps clients gain insight into the unconscious patterns that influence thoughts and behavior.
